Watch: Cast Of "Yumi's Cells" Bid Farewell To Season 1 And Ask Viewers To Look Forward To Next Season
The cast of “Yumi’s Cells” have shared concluding comments following the finale of the first season!
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “Yumi’s Cells” told the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi – from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action. Kim Go Eun played the titular role of Yumi, an ordinary woman who struggles with expressing her feelings, while Ahn Bo Hyun starred as the straightforwardly honest game developer Goo Woong.
On October 30, tvN’s “Yumi’s Cells” aired its season finale with an average nationwide rating of 2.5 percent. In the new clip, the main cast of the show thank viewers for their support and express excitement for the next season.
Kim Go Eun comments, “Since many people related and showed love to our drama, I felt so happy and fulfilled. Since the drama ‘Yumi’s Cells’ was a genre combining animation and real life, a lot of people worked really hard and since our viewers watched so enjoyably, we filmed happily. Please look forward to Season 2 as much as you loved Season 1. Since there will be new stories, I hope you have even more fun watching.”
Lastly, to Goo Woong, she shares with a big laugh, “Woong. I loved you without regret.” Kim Go Eun continues, “We filmed together for about six or seven months and you were a partner I was so thankful for. I hope you are always happy and healthy. Bye, darling.”
Ahn Bo Hyun shares, “Finally, after seven? Or is it eight months? We’ve finished filming for ‘Yumi’s Cells’ Season 1. I feel a bit sad but refreshed. I’ve become her ex-boyfriend, so I’m a bit sad in that regard. I also feel quite refreshed now that filming is done. While I feel happy that it’s the last of Goo Woong’s long hair, I’m also a bit emotional. To be honest, a few days ago while filming the ending to Season 1, I got really choked up. Since I really felt like I had become Woong in real life, I really got choked up while filming the café scene and I got very teary-eyed, so I struggled trying to hold it in. While acting as Woong, I think I acted very genuinely so I feel pretty proud.”
To Yumi, the actor continues, “Although we’ve broken up, thanks to you, I think I’ve been able to make a lot of good memories. I loved you. I hope you meet someone better. Thank you for making me so, so many great memories over this year and six months. Thank you. Bye.”
GOT7’s Jinyoung comments, “Thank you so much to the viewers who loved Season 1. I’m curious what you thought and I feel quite regretful that Season 1 is ending. Thank you so much for giving it so much love. Please look forward lots to Season 2!”
Lee Yoo Bi remarks, “We’ve been filming straight since April and it was so fun. We’ll see you in Season 2 after reorganizing! Thank you for everyone’s hard work.” SHINee’s Minho adds, “Through this project, I think I was able to showcase a lot of different images so I was very happy and this was such a good set. Thank you.”
Park Ji Hyun comments, “I was really looking forward to this as I really liked the webtoon. That’s why I’m not sure whether I did well, but I had lots of fun acting together with various seniors, actors, and staff members for this long, but short time. It was such an honor to be able to participate in the process of this new challenge. Please don’t hate [my character] Se Yi too much.”
Joo Jong Hyuk shares, “They say that they’re airing Season 2 as well. I plan to diligently appear there too. Since it’s a cute role, please watch over me cutely and I ask that you give us lots of love. Thank you.”
Later, Ahn Bo Hyun asks viewers to give Season 2 lots of love and adds, “I hope you do not forget about Goo Woong. As a fan of ‘Yumi’s Cells’ myself, I will watch from the side as Ahn Bo Hyun and not Woong.”
Kim Go Eun adds, “We’re diligently filming Season 2 now so I hope you stay with us for Season 2 as well. Thank you. We’ll see you soon!”
