Lee Kyu Han Denies Reports That He Assaulted A Driver + Clarifies His Health Issues Are Due To Panic Disorder

Actor Lee Kyu Han has denied reports that he committed drunken assault and clarified various issues regarding his health.

On November 5, Lee Kyu Han stated to a media outlet that he had stepped down from two dramas that he was scheduled to appear in because of health issues. However, people continued to speculate on the exact reasons for him leaving the two dramas and why he had deleted all posts from his social media.

On November 8, Star News reported that the Seoul Gangnam Police Station had recently forwarded a case regarding Lee Kyu Han to the prosecution. The case was over whether Lee Kyu Han had drunkenly assaulted a chauffeur in the Gangnam area last year.

According to the driver, Lee Kyu Han and his friend had gotten drunk and hired a car from a chauffeur service and started provoking the driver while he was driving them. The driver claimed that he had been assaulted and filed a request for investigation with the police.

A representative from the police stated, “We did begin investigation on this case. There was an argument involved. We cannot give exact details about the circumstances or what charges will be laid. There was no CCTV footage of the incident and both sides gave completely opposite testimonies, so the investigation took longer than expected.”

Later on November 8, Lee Kyu Han shared the following post on his personal Instagram.

This is Lee Kyu Han. My heart feels heavy at having to share this unfortunate news.

An incident that took place in August 2020 is still bothering me a year and three months later…

What I can say right now is that I did not commit physical or verbal assault. I can stake my life on this.

Right now, I don’t have an agency, so a lot of reporters are calling me directly…

But I have severe panic disorder because of this incident and I cannot respond to them all. I’m deeply sorry about this.

When I’m cleared of all charges and my health recovers, if people are still interested in my story, then I will reveal everything about what happened.

Lee Kyu Han also gave a brief statement to OSEN denying that he assaulted anyone and explaining why he had deleted his social media posts. “It’s been a while since I deleted them,” he said. “There was no significant meaning behind it.” Asked how long he planned to take a hiatus from acting, he said, “Right now my panic disorder has become severe and I’m receiving treatment.”
