Kwak Si Yang, Kang Mina, And Kwon Soo Hyun Confirmed For New Drama With Seo In Guk
Kwak Si Yang, Kang Mina, and Kwon Soo Hyun will be joining Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo in the upcoming drama “Minamdang: Case Note” (literal title)!
“Minamdang: Case Note” is based on a popular web novel of the same name by writer Jung Jae Han that was serialized on Kakao Page and won the grand prize at Kakao Page’s web novel contest. The upcoming comedy mystery is about the events that unfold as former profiler Nam Han Joon becomes a baksumudang (male shaman).
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo would be starring in the show. Seo In Guk will be playing the fraudulent baksumudang and former profiler Nam Han Joon, while Oh Yeon Seo will be taking on the role of violent crimes division’s team leader Han Jae Hee.
Kwak Si Yang will be playing the role of Gong Soo Chul, who is Minamdang’s barista during the day and a violent crimes detective at night. Unlike his wild and rough appearance, Gong Soo Chul has a friendly and adorable personality. As a man of loyalty, he has great affection for former profiler and baksumudang Nam Han Joon, which will cause unexpected events to occur in the drama. Having impressed in “Lovers of the Red Sky,” “Human Cloning,” “Alice,” “Oh My Ghostess,” and his current drama “IDOL: The Coup,” viewers are looking forward to seeing how Kwak Si Yang will portray his character’s double life.
Kang Mina will be transforming into Nam Han Joon’s younger sister Nam Hye Joon, who is an outstanding member of the National Intelligence Service. With her carefree and easy going personality, Nam Hye Joon is like a racing horse when it comes to getting revenge on those who act rudely or unfairly. With an upcoming role in “When Flowers Bloom, I Think of the Moon” (literal title), Kang Mina has captivated viewers with her ability to immerse herself into her roles through “Hotel Del Luna” and “Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter.”
Kwon Soo Hyun will be taking on the role of prosecutor Cha Do Won of the Western District Prosecutor’s Office. On top of being from an extremely wealthy family, Cha Do Won doesn’t lack anything from appearance, studies, and skills in arts and sports. Although he’s famous for being a multi-talented and righteous prosecutor, he hides a knife behind his friendly smile. Kwon Soo Hyun has brought to life a variety of different characters through “Move to Heaven,” “Record of Youth,” “Abyss,” and “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes,” raising anticipation for the actor’s portrayal for the warmhearted yet cold Cha Do Won.
“Minamdang: Case Note” will begin filming soon and is slated to premiere in the first half of next year.
