Celebrities Reveal Whether They Will Be Taking The 2022 College Entrance Exam
With South Korea’s annual college entrance exam soon approaching, many celebrities who are current high school seniors have revealed whether or not they will be taking the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
Last year, the CSAT was postponed for two weeks due to concerns regarding COVID-19. This year’s CSAT will be held tomorrow on November 18 without any postponement.
According to Newsen’s report on various entertainment agencies, ITZY’s Yuna, ENHYPEN’s Sunoo, STAYC’s Seeun, EPEX’s Keum Dong Hyun and Mu, BLITZERS’ Lutan, P1Harmony’s Intak, and woo!ah!’s Wooyeon and Sora will not be taking the college entrance exam this year.
CRAVITY’s Taeyoung and Seongmin have also chosen to skip this year’s CSAT. A source from Starship Entertainment stated, “We discussed future prospects and career paths with Taeyoung and Seongmin, and they’ve ultimately decided not to take the CSAT this year.”
An Yu Jin, who is gearing up to debut in Starship Entertainment’s new girl group IVE, will also be forgoing the CSAT. According to News1, a source from her agency stated, “We’ve discussed the CSAT with Yu Jin in length, but she’s decided [not to take the exam] in order to concentrate on her promotions with her debut just around the corner. Depending on the artist’s opinion in the future, she’ll consider the subject of college life and whether to attend college or not when she can focus on it while promoting.” Finally, they asked fans to show support for IVE and An Yu Jin on their upcoming debut.
Among idols who have decided to take the CSAT are TREASURE’s Doyoung, Ciipher’s Dohwan and Won and fromis_9’s Baek Ji Heon, who is currently attending Seoul Performing Arts High School and has released “Study with Me” videos on fromis_9’s official YouTube channel. VERIVERY’s Kangmin, Rocket Punch’s Sohee, ICHILLIN’s Chaerin, MCND’s Minjae and Huijun, GHOST9’s Lee Woo Jin, and MIRAE’s Dongpyo will all be taking the exam this year as well.
Furthermore, actress Park Ji Hu of “House of Hummingbird” will be returning to her hometown in Daegu to take the CSAT. Tang Joon Sang, who starred in SBS’s “Racket Boys” and the Netflix original “Move to Heaven,” has received early admission into Chung-Ang University’s department of theater and film.
We wish all the students taking the CSAT tomorrow the best of luck!
