SM Explains Decision To Remove Videos Uploaded To EXO’s Baekhyun’s YouTube Channel During His Military Service
SM Entertainment has decided to remove videos on EXO’s Baekhyun’s YouTube channel “KyoongTube” that were uploaded during his military service.
Baekhyun enlisted as a public service worker on May 6. Since his enlistment, SM Entertainment had been uploading pre-recorded content on the channel.
On November 18, SM Entertainment shared the following statement on the YouTube channel’s community.
We announce that we will halt the upload of “KyoongTube” content until the day of Baekhyun’s military discharge.
We had been uploading one video of pre-recorded content per month during the period of Baekhyun’s military service in order to repay the love that fans have sent Baekhyun.
Although it is not against the law to upload content that was recorded and produced prior to his enlistment, in order to prevent any unexpected misunderstandings despite our intentions, we have decided to delete all of the content that was uploaded after Baekhyun’s enlistment.
We ask fans for their understanding.
According to Korean military law, soldiers serving in the military are not allowed to engage in profit-making activities or have an additional job.
