Kim Soo Hyun Is Threatened In Prison As Cha Seung Won Tries To Get Through To Him In "One Ordinary Day"

Coupang Play has released new stills ahead of the upcoming episode of their original drama “One Ordinary Day”!

A remake of the BBC drama “Criminal Justice,” “One Ordinary Day” is about an ordinary college student who becomes a murder suspect overnight and the third-rate lawyer who is the only one to reach out to help him while never asking him the truth of what happened that night.

In the previous episode, Kim Hyun Soo (Kim Soo Hyun) continued to insist on his innocence despite the mountain of circumstantial evidence against him and the testimony of a witness who said they saw him go into Hong Guk Hwa (Hwang Se On)’s house. But before his arrest warrant could be properly evaluated, the case spread all over the news and Kim Hyun Soo was already considered guilty in the minds of the public. As a result, he was imprisoned.

The new stills show Kim Hyun Soo facing a number of humiliations and threats in prison. After waking up inside a prison cell, he tries to call someone, but Park Doo Shik (Yang Kyung Won) cuts off his call. Later, Park Doo Shik pushes Kim Hyun Soo up against a wall and threatens him with a sharpened toothbrush as the other prisoners surround him.

Yang Kyung Won and Kim Soo Hyun had fun filming these scenes, as they had previously met before and reunited through this drama. The two actors traded jokes even just before filming, but as soon as the cameras started rolling, Kim Soo Hyun transformed into the nervous prison newbie and Yang Kyung Won as the bully with a strong-eats-weak mentality.

The production staff stated, “Kim Soo Hyun created a moving scene in which the viewers can feel their hearts beat faster as Kim Hyun Soo is unfairly imprisoned and becomes the lowest kid in the pecking order. Episode 3 of ‘One Ordinary Day’ will show the psychological state of a character who goes from his ordinary life to a life in prison.”

In another set of stills, Kim Hyun Soo is visited in prison by his new defence attorney, Shin Joong Han (Cha Seung Won). Shin Joong Han tries to be friendly and get the younger man to open up to him, but Kim Hyun Soo avoids his eye and treats him formally, giving him a low bow as if in shame. Shin Joong Han’s face goes rigid and the atmosphere in the room changes.

The production staff stated, “If you were thirsting to see brilliant acting, then this will resolve that thirst. This scene will reveal something that will shake the foundations of this case.”
