BTS, TWICE, And Epik High Make Rolling Stone's "The 50 Best Songs Of 2021" List
Rolling Stone’s “The 50 Best Songs of 2021” list included songs by BTS, Epik High, and TWICE!
On December 6 local time, the American pop culture magazine published its annual picks for the 50 best songs of the year.
TWICE started off the list at No. 50 with “The Feels,” which is the group’s first English-language single. Rolling Stone praised the song by writing that “it deservedly caught the attention of the Western market” with its “radiant burst of disco energy.”
Epik High’s “Rosario” (featuring CL and Zico) from the first part of their 10th studio album “Epik High Is Here” came in at No. 40 on the list. Referring to the group as “K-pop vets,” Rolling Stone remarked that the song strays from typical K-pop production, “setting the standard for K-pop acts to follow.”
BTS’s “Butter” ranked No. 16 on Rolling Stone’s list, making it the group’s second consecutive year to appear on the list. Mentioning their hit “Dynamite,” Rolling Stone commented that while “that song was about their triumph as a group, this one gives everyone a chance to shine.” The article also highlighted and praised the remix version of “Butter” featuring American rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Last year, Rolling Stone’s list of the “The 50 Best Songs of 2020” featured BTS and BLACKPINK as the only Korean artists, and BTS also made Rolling Stone’s list of the “The 50 Best Albums of 2020” with “Map of the Soul: 7.”
