Lee Do Hyun And Im Soo Jung Reunite To Have A Serious Talk As Teachers In "Melancholia"
The mood between Im Soo Jung and Lee Do Hyun is getting serious in tvN’s “Melancholia”!
Beginning in a private school that is rife with corruption, “Melancholia” is a drama about a passionate math teacher named Ji Yoon Soo (Im Soo Jung) and a math prodigy named Baek Seung Yoo (Lee Do Hyun).
Spoilers
In the newly released stills, Ji Yoon Soo’s facial expression is frosty with anger as if she has much to say. After Ji Yoon Soo and Baek Seung Yoo met for the first time in four years, she had clearly expressed her intent to not see him anymore. However, the newly released stills capture the two of them meeting alone again.
Although Baek Seung Yoo has been looking forward to reuniting with Ji Yoon Soo again more than anyone else, Baek Seung Yoo’s expression is also dark, raising curiosity about the heavy atmosphere between the two.
Previously, Baek Seung Yoo returned to Ahsung High School as a math teacher, and he started a project to make a National Museum of Mathematics. A student named Choi Si Ahn (Shin Soo Yeon), who Ji Yoon Soo has been secretly teaching, decided to participate in the project. However, during the speech presentation for the project’s first assignment, a problem occurred in which Choi Si Ahn’s presentation topic overlapped with that of Noh Jung Ah’s (Jin Kyung) daughter Kim Ji Na (Kim Ji Young). Both students claimed that they had not copied the other, and Ji Yoon Soo had witnessed this unfold.
Although Kim Ji Na has a reliable source of support since her mother is the principle of Ahsung High School, Choi Si Ahn doesn’t have a similar fallback.
Therefore, Baek Seung Yoo and Ji Yoon Soo meet as teachers who are connected by one student. Ji Yoon Soo will also be the first to suggest this meeting, giving the situation a different type of tense atmosphere. Viewers are curious to see how the two teachers will resolve this new problem through the upcoming episodes.
“Melancholia” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 p.m. KST.
