Kim Soo Hyun And Cha Seung Won Stand Together In A Precarious Situation In 'One Ordinary Day'

Coupang Play’s “One Ordinary Day” previewed a precarious situation during an on-site verification.

“One Ordinary Day” is a drama about an ordinary college student named Kim Hyun Soo who becomes a murder suspect overnight (Kim Soo Hyun) and a third-rate lawyer named Shin Joong Han who is the only one who helps him but never asks him the truth of what happened that night (Cha Seung Won).

Spoilers

In episode five, Kim Hyun Soo attended his first hearing in his trial by jury and with the help of Shin Joong Han, who had returned as his lawyer, managed to withstand the brutal questioning from prosecutor Ahn Tae Hee (Kim Shin Rok). When Ahn Tae Hee opted for an on-site verification, Shin Joong Han said, “We’re on a train that can’t be stopped. Let’s fight this out face-to-face.”

The new stills show Kim Hyun Soo and Shin Joong Han at the location of the crime, where Kim Hyun Soo is forced to watch a re-enactment of the prosecution’s construction of the events that happened that night. Kim Hyun Soo’s expression subtly changes as he enters the house of the victim, Hong Guk Hwa (Hwang Se On), and he gets more confused, flustered, and frustrated as he is surrounded by reporters, jurors, and the police, who will reenact the crime. Shin Joong Han is aware of his client’s fragile emotional state and tries to calm him down.

This scene contained several complex undercurrents, including tension between client and attorney, police and prosecution, but Cha Seung Won and Kim Soo Hyun showed their focus, immersion, and emotional acting until the end. The two actors leaned on each other to create the best scene possible, resulting in applause from the crew when they had finished filming.

This episode will be available on December 12 at midnight KST.
