Song Hye Kyo, Choi Hee Seo, and Park Hyo Joo have been flaunting an incredible “womance” in “Now We Are Breaking Up”!

SBS’s “Now We Are Breaking Up” is a drama about love and breakups set against the backdrop of the fashion industry. Song Hye Kyo stars as Ha Young Eun, a fashion designer with a firmly realistic outlook on life, while Choi Hee Seo and Park Hyo Joo play her close friends Hwang Chi Sook and Jeon Mi Sook.

1. When Hwang Chi Sook helps out Ha Young Eun

When Hwang Chi Sook finds out that Ha Young Eun is seeing Yoon Jae Guk (Jang Ki Yong), the younger brother of her ex-boyfriend Yoon Soo Wan (Shin Dong Wook), she worriedly comments, “Can you really ignore everything just because you two are happy? If you do that, you’ll really get hurt. Mark my words.” Although she disapproves of the pair, when Hwang Chi Sook’s father, company president Hwang (Joo Jin Mo), is about to witness Ha Young Eun and Yoon Jae Guk sharing an intimate moment, she helpfully sends them a warning with a fake cough.

Later, while drunk, Hwang Chi Sook accidentally spills to her father that Yoon Jae Guk likes Ha Young Eun as she explains, “I’m telling you, it’s not that Young Eun stole him [from me], it’s that things went awry between [me and Yoon Jae Guk]. Don’t say something to Young Eun and embarrass me.” Although Hwang Chi Sook is heartbroken after finding out that Yoon Jae Guk, the man she has feelings for, likes her friend Ha Young Eun, she stands firmly by Ha Young Eun’s side, showcasing how much she values their friendship.

2. When Hwang Chi Sook showcases her refreshing charm with nonchalant cold remarks

When Shin Yoo Jung (Yoon Jung Hee), Yoon Soo Wan’s ex-fiancée, ends a contract with Ha Young Eun’s brand Sono because of her personal feelings, Hwang Chi Sook makes sure Ha Young Eun gets the help of Go Kwang Soo (Jang Hyuk Jin). She also refreshingly tells Shin Yoo Jung, “Were you getting revenge on Young Eun for something that happened 10 years ago? What kind of old-fashioned abuse of power is this by an ex-fiancée from 10 years ago?”

Hwang Chi Sook also shows her father that she no longer has feelings for Yoon Jae Guk by kissing Seok Do Hoon (Kim Joo Heon) in front of him. She explains to her dad, “Young Eun and Jae Guk say they like each other, so it’d be so bad to hold a grudge and corner Young Eun because of it. I don’t want to lose my one and only best friend because of you, Dad.”

3. When Hwang Chi Sook retailors clothing for her sick best friend Park Hyo Joo

Hwang Chi Sook is one of the last people to find out about Jeon Mi Sook’s pancreatic cancer diagnosis. While bawling, she says, “Those mean girls. Always among themselves, without me. Why did they only not tell me?” However, she quickly puts her sadness aside and gathers all her resources to get Jeon Mi Sook the treatment she needs. Since Jeon Mi Sook has lost a lot of weight because of the cancer, Hwang Chi Sook decides to retailor all of her clothing with Ha Young Eun so that they fit her well. The two friends also help change Jeon Mi Sook’s mind after she initially declines chemotherapy, warming viewers’ hearts with the trio’s trustworthy and loving relationship.
