Song Ji Hyo Talks About Being Scouted While Working At A Cafe On "Running Man"

On the latest episode of “Running Man,” Song Ji Hyo mentioned that she was first discovered while working at a cafe!

The December 12 episode of the SBS variety show was a “Ji Suk Jin’s Cells” special that riffed on the popular tvN drama “Yumi’s Cells.” While looking back on their twenties, Ji Suk Jin and Yoo Jae Suk talked about how they used to spend lots of time at a trendy coffee shop in the Apgujeong neighborhood of Seoul.

“Lots of really attractive people went there,” explained Ji Suk Jin. HaHa added, “So many aspiring celebrities worked there part-time,” and Yoo Jae Suk chimed in, “In order to get scouted. Because back then, there were a lot of celebrities who got scouted at cafes.” HaHa went on to recall that actor Jung Woo Sung had been scouted at a nearby cafe.

Ji Suk Jin then asked Song Ji Hyo, “Didn’t you work as a server?” Song Ji Hyo replied, “I worked part-time at a cafe,” before confirming that she had been scouted while working there.

Praising Song Ji Hyo’s looks, Kim Jong Kook commented, “Ji Hyo definitely seems like she’d have gotten scouted. When I was young, not just anybody could work at a cafe.” HaHa agreed, “She must have been really popular.”
