Weeekly’s Jiyoon will now return to participating in the group’s activities.
Previously in August, Jiyoon’s went on hiatus due to recurring symptoms of anxiety.
On December 14, Jiyoon left a message on Weverse for fans regarding her return to the group’s activities. She stated, “I did my best to recover my health while resting, and I also worked out and studied.” She added, “I once again felt gratitude for my members, and my love for Daileee (Weeekly’s fan club name) has also grown.”
She continued, “I gained more confidence in my ability to do better in the future after taking the time out for a much-needed break and honestly reflecting on myself. I will become someone who picks myself up after I fall, and I want to continuously walk together with Daileee.”
In addition, IST Entertainment released an official statement on December 14 regarding her return.
The full statement reads as follows:
Hello, this is IST Entertainment
We are making an announcement regarding Weeekly member Shin Jiyoon’s health condition as well as her future promotions.
We previously announced Jiyoon’s hiatus in August due to her symptoms of anxiety.
Jiyoon was able to use the last four months to focus on recovering her health. We would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding.
Our company, Jiyoon’s family, as well as a specialist have been carefully working towards Jiyoon’s return to activities with her health as the top priority. After recent discussion, we reached a mutual opinion that Jiyoon is now well enough to return to activities.
Therefore, Weekly will resume activities with the full seven-member lineup starting on December 15.
We once again express gratitude for the encouragement sent to Jiyoon, and please look forward to Weeekly’s future activities.
Thank you.
