TXT Becomes Only Korean Artist To Debut 3 Albums On Billboard 200 In 2021
As they wrap up an amazing year on the Billboard charts, TXT has set another 2021 record with their latest album!
On December 13 local time, Billboard announced that TXT’s first Japanese EP “Chaotic Wonderland” had debuted at No. 177 on its famous Top 200 Albums chart, its weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the United States.
With this latest debut, TXT has now become the only Korean artist to chart three new albums on the Billboard 200 in 2021: the group previously entered the chart with their Japanese album “Still Dreaming” and their second studio album “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE,” which went on to become the longest-charting K-pop album of 2021 on the Billboard 200 (with 13 non-consecutive weeks on the chart).
Additionally, TXT is now the first Korean artist ever to debut two different Japanese albums on the Billboard 200 in less than a year (“Chaotic Wonderland” entered the chart less than 10 months after “Still Dreaming”).
TXT is also only the second Korean group in history to debut three different albums on the Billboard 200 in the same year, following BTS, and only the third group from any country since 2010 to enter the Billboard 200 with more than one Japanese album, following BTS and Japanese band BABYMETAL.
Finally, with five different chart entries to their name, TXT has also become the Korean artist to land the second-highest number of albums on the Billboard 200 in the history of the chart, bested only by BTS—a feat that is all the more remarkable considering that TXT debuted less than three years ago.
Before “Still Dreaming,” “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE,” and “Chaotic Wonderland,” TXT previously entered the Billboard 200 with their 2019 mini album “The Dream Chapter: STAR” and their 2020 mini album “minisode1: Blue Hour.”
In addition to the Billboard 200, “Chaotic Wonderland” also entered Billboard’s World Albums chart at No. 4, Top Current Album Sales chart at No. 19, and Top Album Sales chart at No. 24, while TXT re-entered the Artist 100 at No. 87.
Congratulations to TXT!
