Here is the agency’s official statement:
We are informing you about NU’EST member Ren’s schedule.
On the evening of December 14 (Tuesday), it was confirmed that he had been in close contact with a COVID-19 patient. Ren immediately underwent PCR testing on December 15 (Wednesday) and received negative results.
There has been no contact between Ren and the other NU’EST members from the evening of December 14.
All of the NU’EST members completed the second round of COVID-19 vaccination in early November. Accordingly, even a person comes in contact with a confirmed patient, there are no restrictions on external activities if the PCR test results are negative. In addition, Ren currently has no suspicious symptoms of infection such as fever or respiratory disease.
Nevertheless, in consideration of the health and safety of those around him, Ren has voluntarily started self-quarantine on December 15, and he and will receive additional PCR tests according to the measures of the public health center.
As a result, Ren will be inevitably absent from the 2021 KBS Song Festival, which is scheduled to be held on December 17 (Friday), and NU’EST will take the stage as four members. We ask for your understanding.
We will let you know when Ren will resume his activities as soon as it is confirmed.
We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our artists, and we will faithfully comply with the requests and guidelines of the health authorities.
