Hyeri And Yoo Seung Ho Talk About Working Together For "Moonshine," Their Personalities, And More
Girl’s Day’s Hyeri and Yoo Seung Ho look stunning in their pictorial for Cosmopolitan!
In the interview that followed their photo shoot, Hyeri and Yoo Seung Ho dished on their contrasting personalities, what they plan to do in the future, and more.
The interviewer noted that Hyeri had been continuously monitoring the results of her photo shoot, while Yoo Seung Ho hadn’t. Hyeri said, “I find that I do better after monitoring myself.” Meanwhile, Yoo Seung Ho explained why he didn’t monitor himself, saying, “I’m too embarrassed to look at myself.”
They talked about their chemistry together. Yoo Seung Ho complimented Hyeri, saying, “She makes people feel really comfortable… I’m not the type to start up a conversation first, so Hyeri’s personality really helped [us get closer]. Every day, she’d ask me lots of little questions, like if I’d eaten yet, and so we were able to have great discussions about things.” Hyeri explained, “I’m really curious about how people are doing and the little things in life.”
Hyeri also mentioned how Yoo Seung Ho is an honest person and how it’s surprising to see him get excited when he talks about the things he likes, such as his cat. Yoo Seung Ho added that Hyeri gets excited when she jokes around with him, saying, “I can already see the excitement in her eyes when she’s about to mess with me.”
Hyeri shared that because “Moonshine” is her first historical drama, Yoo Seung Ho helped her out on set. “I asked him for help, because I felt like I’d be really nervous once we started filming. But he told me, ‘You’ll be fine, since you’re really good [at acting]. I hope that we can help each other out while [acting together].” Yoo Seung Ho also added, “There wasn’t much to help out with, since she was already a great actress.”
The interviewer pointed out that Yoo Seung Ho lives with his cat, while Hyeri lives with her dog: one of many aspects in which the two differed. Yoo Seung Ho commented that he likes being close with people, but he also still likes to keep his distance. He shared that he thinks that he and Hyeri get along because they’re different, saying, “Her bright personality isn’t too much for me… to be honest, I don’t really have a specific type [of person that I don’t get along with]. I don’t like interfering in people’s lives, and I prefer to let people do what they want.”
During the photo shoot, Yoo Seung Ho thoughtfully asked for a blanket when Hyeri had to sit on the floor with a skirt on. When the interviewer pointed this out, Hyeri jokingly said, “I also asked for something he could sit on when he had to sit on the floor. But he was calm and slowly explained things first when he asked for a blanket, while I’m the complete opposite and say things loudly and really quickly… He also has really warm hands, while my hands are always cold.”
Hyeri also talked about her strong personality. “I’m the oldest daughter in my family, and I think that’s made me who I am today. I hang on, and I finish the things I start. I think of my family a lot, and I’m the type who reaches out first to people around me to ask to meet up.”
Meanwhile, Yoo Seung Ho commented on turning 30 (by Korean reckoning) next year. “Time went by really fast. I think a lot about what I did during my beautiful 20s. People tell me that my 30s are going to be more fun, but all I can think about is that I need to achieve something, at the very least… I’m quite sad that my 20s are over.” Hyeri also added, “I think people feel that way when anything comes to an end. We always tell ourselves that we could’ve done this better or try this another way.”
Finally, when asked about how they want people to remember their drama “Moonshine,” Yoo Seung Ho said, “The theme of the drama centers on alcohol. It reminds me of the good times two or three years ago, when I used to go out with my friends and grab a drink. Remembering those memories makes me sad that I can’t go back, but it also makes me happy, thinking, ‘Those were great times.’ I hope that’s the feeling people get when they watch the drama.”
