Kwon Sang Woo Talks About Filming Action Scenes For 'The Pirates' Sequel + The Words He Most Wants To Hear As An Actor

In a recent interview and pictorial for Arena Homme Plus magazine, Kwon Sang Woo shared some of his know-how for filming action scenes!

The actor is currently starring in “The Pirates: Goblin Flag,” the long-awaited sequel to the hit film “The Pirates,” as the ruthless villain Boo Heung Soo. Kwon Sang Woo revealed that because of his love of filming action, he has tried to consistently include the genre in his filmography.

As for the key to filming a great action scene, he remarked, “When it comes to action, I think the most important thing is speed. In order to create action scenes that can satisfy audiences, there needs to be a sense of speed in your bodily movements, instead of trying to make the scene dynamic by adjusting the camera frame.”

However, despite his status as a savvy and experienced action star, Kwon Sang Woo shared that his primary goal as an actor is versatility.

“I want to hear that I’m able to flexibly pull off a wide variety of genres,” he explained. “To be honest, those are the words I most want to hear.”

Kwon Sang Woo’s full interview is available in the February issue of Arena Homme Plus magazine.
