"Knowing Bros" Explains Their Decision To Not Edit Song Ji A Out Of Latest Episode
The producers of JTBC’s “Knowing Bros” (“Ask Us Anything”) have explained their decision not to edit Song Ji A out of the show’s most recent episode.
Song Ji A, a YouTuber and influencer who skyrocketed to stardom after appearing on Netflix’s dating reality show “Single’s Inferno,” recently came under fire for wearing fake designer apparel and jewelry on both “Single’s Inferno” and her social media accounts. Song Ji A eventually apologized for wearing counterfeit goods in a handwritten letter that she posted on Instagram.
In response to the controversy, MBC’s “The Manager” announced that they would no longer be airing footage of Song Ji A on the program’s upcoming January 29 episode, which was originally scheduled to feature her as a guest.
However, “Knowing Bros” went ahead with airing footage of Song Ji A during its January 23 episode, ultimately opting not to edit the influencer out of the show.
When some viewers expressed discomfort with the show’s decision, the producers of “Knowing Bros” explained, “Without canceling the broadcast, it would have been difficult to get rid of all of Song Ji A’s screen time.”
“The controversy regarding Song Ji A blew up right before the broadcast, and so it was unavoidable that we had to air [her footage],” they continued. “We didn’t want to edit out our footage of Lee Young Ji, who appeared together with her as a guest, or cause [Lee Young Ji] any damage.”
The producer went on, “Due to these kinds of reasons, we edited and aired part of our footage, and we edited out as much of Song Ji A’s footage as we could without breaking the flow of the program itself.”
