'My Teen Girl' Group To Debut In Japan Under Universal Music

It’s official: the group formed on MBC’s “My Teen Girl” will be making their Japanese debut under Universal Music!

“My Teen Girl” is an audition show that features aspiring idols battling for the chance to debut in a brand-new girl group. The program kicked off with 83 contestants, and the final debut lineup will consist of seven members. Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri, (G)I-DLE‘s Jeon Soyeon, Fin.K.L’s Ock Joo Hyun, and Aiki of “Street Woman Fighter” serve as the contestants’ teachers on the show.

On January 24, MBC announced that even though the “My Teen Girl” group’s final lineup has not yet been decided, they have already signed with Universal Music for their Japanese promotions. Notably, Universal Music managed the official Japanese debuts of both Girls’ Generation and KARA.

Meanwhile, “My Teen Girl” has been gaining steam as it heads into the final weeks of its run: this past week, the survival show topped Good Data Corporation’s latest rankings of the most buzzworthy non-drama TV shows.
