Kim Tae Ri Faces Off Against A School Bully In Teasers For "Twenty-Five, Twenty-One"
Kim Tae Ri has an unusual encounter in front of the school’s snack bar in teasers for her new drama!
“Twenty-Five, Twenty-One” is an upcoming tvN drama set in 1998, starring Nam Joo Hyuk and Kim Tae Ri as Baek Yi Jin and Na Hee Do, who first meet when they are 22 and 18 years old and fall in love when they meet again at age 25 and 21. It is about the youth who lost their dreams in the wake of the 1997 financial crisis and find new growth and direction.
Kim Tae Ri plays Na Hee Do, an 18-year-old fencing athlete whose high school team is disbanded due to the IMF crisis. However, she doesn’t lose hope and continues to pursue her dreams with ambition and passion.
In the new stills, Na Hee Do sits in front of the school snack shop, struggling to control her breathing and a fire burning in her eyes. All of a sudden, she walks up to the school bully and pushes her by the shoulders. The bully looks at her coldly but Na Hee Do says, “Did you just hit me?” When the bully grabs Na Hee Do’s shoulders in response, Na Hee Do cradles her shoulder as if she’s been injured, but it’s unclear what her true intentions were in this confrontation.
In order to prepare for this scene, Kim Tae Ri did some light warmups before filming began. She also checked the scripted movements with her co-star in the scene, since the characters’ movements are vital to the tension that unfolds. The two actors also rehearsed their lines as if it was a real filming, showing the characters’ changing emotions through her gaze and facial expressions.
The production company, Hwa&Dam Pictures, stated, “Kim Tae Ri brings the bright and energetic 18-year-old Na Hee Do to life with her realistic acting and impresses everyone on set. Please look forward to her acting transformation as a fresh-faced youth who sets out to challenge life with youthful ambition.”
“Twenty-Five, Twenty-One” premieres on February 12 at 9:10 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser here!
