Yoo Seung Ho And Hyeri Pick Their Favorite Scenes From "Moonshine"
Yoo Seung Hyo and Girl’s Day’s Hyeri recently talked about their favorite scenes from “Moonshine!”
“Moonshine” is a drama set in the Joseon era during the time when prohibition laws were at their strongest. The series tells the love story of Kang Ro Seo, a struggling aristocrat who starts illegally making alcohol in order to support her family (played by Hyeri), and Joseon’s greatest inspector Nam Young, who is known for living a very principled life (played by Yoo Seung Ho).
In the last 12 episodes, Kang Ro Seo and Nam Young experienced several ups and downs while going through the process of becoming honest about their feelings for each other.
The viewers have come up with the nickname milgam for the couple, combining the Korean words for illegal alcohol brewer and inspector together. Yoo Seung Ho thanked the viewers for supporting the drama, saying, “The fact that the viewers came up with the nickname of milgam couple shows that they must have enjoyed the drama, right? I’m so thankful.”
Hyeri also added, “When I first heard the nickname, I wondered what was the reason. When I was told what it meant, I thought that the idea was so innovative. The word milgam itself sounds adorable, and it’s fitting of the cute and innocent image of Ro Seo and Nam Young, who are still clumsy with one another.”
The two chose their first kiss scene from the end of episode 9 as the most heart-fluttering scene. It is the scene where they confirmed their feelings for each other after being in denial. The scene was beautifully captured with cherry blossoms decorating the background, creating a dreamy atmosphere between the two of them.
Yoo Seung Ho continued to talk about the kiss scene, saying, “I want to pick this scene as the most heart-fluttering moment because this scene was a great change for Nam Young and showcased his sincere feelings towards Ro Seo.”
Hyeri added, “This is when they confirmed their feelings for each other and became honest with themselves about how they feel. When I watched that scene again, it felt exhilarating.”
Yoo Seung Ho talked about what he focused on to keep up the chemistry between the two characters. “I tried not to be swayed by Ro Seo. There’s a certain type of chemistry that is produced when two very different people meet. Hyeri is very energetic, so there are times when Nam Young becomes excessive. I tried to keep within certain boundaries while acting without getting swept up [by her energy].”
The ending of episode 12 raised tension as Ro Seo’s hiding place was taken over, and she was being chased. In the midst of it all, the two are seen walking side-by-side, sparking curiosity as to how they will reunite once again.
The next two episodes of “Moonshine” will air on February 8 starting at 10 p.m. KST due to coverage of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
