Kang Shin Hyo, Ji Young San, And Lee Hye Sook Open Up About Joining Cast Of "Love (Ft. Marriage And Divorce) 3"

Ahead of the third season of “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce),” the three incoming actors Kang Shin Hyo, Ji Young San, and Lee Hye Sook discussed their feelings about taking over preexisting roles in the show.

“Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)” is a multi-season drama about three women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who experience shakeups in their marriages when they discover their husbands are having affairs. The drama is penned by famous makjang drama writer Im Sung Han (also known as Phoebe), and the previous seasons starred actors including Sung Hoon, Lee Tae Gon, Lee Ga Ryung, Lee Min Young, Jeon No Min, Jun Soo Kyung, and more.

Last week, it was announced that actors Sung Hoon and Lee Tae Gon will not be appearing in the third season. Going forward, Kang Shin Hyo will take over Sung Hoon’s role as Pan Sa Hyun, and Ji Young San will be replacing Lee Tae Gon’s role as Shin Yoo Shin. Furthermore, Lee Hye Sook will take over Kim Bo Yun‘s role as Shin Yoo Shin’s stepmother Kim Dong Mi.

On taking over the role of Pan Sa Hyun, Kang Shin Hyo said, “I’m really happy to be cast in a great production. I will inherit well the character that my senior previously portrayed, and I want to show a different charm of Pan Sa Hyun.” He added, “As Seasons 1 and 2 were hot topics, I will prepare and work hard to receive a lot of love from viewers in Season 3. I will show a new Pan Sa Hyun, so please look forward to it a lot.”

Likewise, Ji Young San discussed how he felt honored to join the cast, saying, “I was a fervent viewer of Seasons 1 and 2, so now it’s a great honor to be introduced to viewers as writer Phoebe’s new Shin Yoo Shin.” He also recalled a compliment he received from the drama’s director. The actor said, “Director Oh Sang Won gave me courage by saying, ‘You are the current Shin Yoo Shin,’ so I gained self-confidence.” He continued, “I am confident that viewers will be able to feel that [Season 3] is as fun and cathartic as Seasons 1 and 2, if not more so. Please anticipate and show lots of interest in the premiere on February 26.”

Finally, Lee Hye Sook admitted she was concerned about joining the program, saying, “It’s true that I was worried about what synergy would arise when I joined because Kim Bo Yun did such a good job as the role of Kim Dong Mi, but I was devoted to the role in order to permeate into the drama.” To viewers, she said, “As I have always done, I will do my best to draw out the role of Kim Dong Mi. Please look forward to the interesting story that will unfold.”

Ahead of the upcoming third season, the production team said, “Kang Shin Hyo, Ji Young San, and Lee Hye Sook will show new aspects of Pan Sa Hyun, Shin Yoo Shin, and Kim Dong Mi. They will act to kindle the fire in Season 3. With the addition of the three actors, viewers will see powerful synergy and new chemistry.”
