Watch: Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, Kim Ji Hyun, And More Experience The Heart-Fluttering Signs Of Love In "Thirty-Nine" Teaser
JTBC’s upcoming drama “Thirty-Nine” released a new teaser!
“Thirty-Nine” is about three friends who met in their second year of high school and are now on the verge of turning 40. The drama will tell the beautiful and emotional everyday stories of three 39-year-old women who encounter unforeseen circumstances in their lives.
Son Ye Jin plays Cha Mi Jo, the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. Jeon Mi Do takes on the role of Jung Chan Young, an acting teacher who previously dreamed of becoming an actress, and Kim Ji Hyun stars as Jang Joo Hee, a department store cosmetics manager.
The newly released teaser previews the drama’s first episode with clips of the everyday work and love lives of the three best friends. Cha Mi Jo’s voice in the backgrounds hints at a special plan to celebrate her break with Jung Chan Young and Jang Joo Hee.
At an outdoors event, the question, “Who is he?” is tossed as Kim Sun Woo (Yeon Woo Jin) enters the picture. Kim Sun Woo is a dermatologist who appears to be attracted to Cha Mi Jo. He and Cha Mi Jo awkwardly stand together as Kim Sun Woo holds a small bouquet of peonies in his hands.
Jung Chan Young scolds an acting student as Cha Mi Jo remarks in the background, “The fact that you’re not an actress but an acting teacher. If it wasn’t for that person, you could have been successful!” Kim Jin Seok (Lee Moo Saeng) stands alone in the rain with an umbrella in hand as Jung Chan Young stares in his direction with a serious gaze.
Park Hyun Joo (Lee Tae Hwan), the owner and chef of the fusion Chinese restaurant Chinatown, approaches Jang Joo Hee outside a restaurant. Perplexed, she wonders, “Is this the green light that I’ve only ever heard about?”
At a bar, Cha Mi Jo sits across Kim Sun Woo as she boldly asks, “You want to sleep with me, right?” The two leave while holding hands to spend a passionate night together. Jung Chan Young gasps and hides her face in embarrassment. She exclaims, “You did it!” Finally, Cha Mi Jo narrates, “On the verge of turning 40, nothing much had changed.”
