BTS's Jungkook And Suga Make Spotify History As "7 Fates: CHAKHO" OST Breaks Record For Biggest Debut By K-Pop Soloist
BTS’s Jungkook’s new “7 Fates: CHAKHO” OST track produced by Suga continues to make history on music charts worldwide!
On February 11, Jungkook released the new song “Stay Alive” (produced by Suga) for the soundtrack of BTS’s original webtoon and web novel “7 Fates: CHAKHO.”
Within the first day of its release, “Stay Alive” set multiple records on the international iTunes charts. After becoming the fastest song by any Korean soloist in history to hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in 80 different regions and to sweep the No. 1 spot on iTunes Top Songs in the world’s eight biggest music markets, the track eventually went on to reach No. 1 in a total of 98 different regions within just 24 hours—a new record for Korean soloists.
On top of all those achievements, “Stay Alive” has now made history on Spotify as well. The song racked up an impressive 4,273,772 streams on its first day, achieving the highest number of first-day streams for any song released by a Korean solo artist on Spotify. (The previous record belonged to BLACKPINK‘s Rosé’s “On The Ground,” which amassed 3,262,615 streams in its first 24 hours.)
In addition to breaking the record for the biggest Spotify debut of any song by a Korean soloist in terms of first-day streams, “Stay Alive” has also set a new record for Korean solo artists by entering Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart at No. 3.
Congratulations to Jungkook and Suga on the record-breaking success of their new song!
