Crayon Pop's Gummi Announces She's Pregnant With Her Second Child

Former Crayon Pop member Gummi is pregnant with her second child!

On February 16, Gummi posted on Instagram that she was 25 weeks pregnant and shared that although she and her husband had planned to have another child, they had conceived faster than expected.

Gummi debuted as a member of the girl group Crayon Pop in 2012, and switched careers to acting in 2017. In February 2020, she married a non-celebrity businessman. In August of the same year, she gave birth to their first child.

On Instagram, she wrote:

With 100 days left before the birth, I’m cautiously announcing the news of my second child.

Today marks the fifth day of my 25th week of pregnancy. My stomach has gotten a lot bigger and I can feel the baby’s active movements.

We had thought of a second child, but we didn’t know it would be this fast. Both my husband and I felt our hearts skip a beat, so we’ve nicknamed our baby “Shim-Koong.”

Tomorrow I’ll be in the double-digits [counting down from D-100], and I’m half-excited, half-nervous. My son is only three years old [Korean age], so I’m really worried already about how I’ll raise two children. Woo Joo is still so young, and I feel bad for him that he will have to share our love once his younger sibling is born. (I’ll hug you and love you lots tomorrow.)

In any case, as a mom, I hope that Woo Joo and Shim-Koong both get along well. Woo Joo, congratulations on becoming an older brother. I’ll trust Shim-Koong to you.

In her post, Gummi used the word oppa for older brother, indicating that her second child is a daughter. She also included in the hashtags, “mom of a son and daughter,” and “mom who has everything she could want.”
