Watch: Song Kang And Park Min Young Practice Their 1st Kiss In "Forecasting Love And Weather"

JTBC’s “Forecasting Love and Weather” has shared a glimpse behind the scenes of Song Kang and Park Min Young’s first kiss!

“Forecasting Love and Weather” is a new romance drama about the work and love lives of people who work at the Korea Meteorological Administration, Korea’s national weather forecast service. Park Min Young stars as the frosty Jin Ha Kyung, who does everything by the book and is fastidious about keeping her personal and professional lives separate, while Song Kang stars as the free-spirited and determined Lee Si Woo, who boasts an impressive IQ of 150 but only cares about the weather.

In a newly released behind-the-scenes video, Song Kang and Park Min Young carefully plan every detail of their first kiss before filming. As they run through the scene with the director, Song Kang leans in and mimes kissing Park Min Young by adorably making a kiss sound instead of actually kissing her. Park Min Young comments with a laugh, “Mwah? Actually, that’s not bad,” and the director jokingly agrees, “You could actually say that as your line [in the drama].”

The director then tells the two leads that the kiss should be more of an impulsive peck than an angled kiss, and Park Min Young confirms, “So just a collision between our lips.” The director adds, “Or you could even just kiss her on the cheek.” However, Park Min Young disagrees, saying, “No, I think a peck on the lips would be better.”

Once they begin practicing the scene, Park Min Young struggles to hold back her laughter and eventually bursts into giggles when Song Kang starts to ask if he can kiss her. A staff member asks if Song Kang’s line is meant to be delivered in a cool way, and both Song Kang and the director agree that it isn’t. “Isn’t it supposed to be kind of funny?” asks Song Kang, and the director confirms, “It’s meant to be sort of impulsive and cute.” Song Kang then makes Park Min Young smile by adding with a laugh, “[Like I’m] an idiot.”

As the director explains that the kiss mainly happens because Song Kang’s and Park Min Young’s characters are so drunk, Park Min Young jokingly asks, “Should we go grab a drink right now before filming?” She later observes, “We need to act even drunker. It should start with the two of us being more playful, then turn into a [real kiss].”

The two actors then begin actually filming the scene, but Song Kang accidentally causes a blooper by messing up his line and saying, “Can I do that?” instead of “Can I kiss you?” After everyone laughs over the mistake, Song Kang and Park Min Young finally succeed in filming the kiss for real.
