"Thirty-Nine" And "Sponsor" Both Hit Their Highest Ratings Yet
Two new dramas achieved their highest ratings yet last night!
On February 25, JTBC’s “Thirty-Nine” continued its upward trend in viewership for its fourth episode. According to Nielsen Korea, the latest broadcast of the new drama starring Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun scored an average nationwide rating of 7.5 percent, marking a new all-time high for the show.
Meanwhile, iHQ and MBN’s new drama “Sponsor” also enjoyed a rise in viewership for its second episode. The series climbed to an average nationwide rating of 1.4 percent, marking a modest increase from its premiere the night before (which averaged 1.2 percent nationwide).
“Sponsor” is a romance drama about the dangerous relationships between two men and two women who will stop at nothing to get what they want—and who even go looking for “sponsors” to help them achieve their dramas. Lee Ji Hoon stars as Lee Sun Woo, an ambitious photographer who thirsts for vengeance, while Han Chae Young stars as the successful but greedy beauty brand CEO Han Chae Rin. Ji Yi Soo plays rising star Park Da Som, while Koo Ja Sung plays her husband Hyun Seung Hoon, who is also an aspiring model.
