Watch: Song Kang And Park Min Young Perfect The Details Of Their Romantic Alleyway Kiss In "Forecasting Love And Weather"

JTBC’s “Forecasting Love and Weather” has shared behind-the-scenes footage of Song Kang and Park Min Young filming the alleyway kiss that made viewers’ hearts skip a beat!

“Forecasting Love and Weather” is a romance drama about the work and love lives of people who work at the Korea Meteorological Administration, Korea’s national weather forecast service. Park Min Young stars as the frosty Jin Ha Kyung, while Song Kang stars as her free-spirited colleague Lee Si Woo.

The making-of video begins with Song Kang and Park Min Young filming the scene in which their characters are caught eating out together by their co-workers. When Song Kang practices reaching out to check Park Min Young’s temperature by touching her forehead, Park Min Young jokingly observes that it looks like he’s about to hit her. She then shows off her considerate side by asking, “Am I too far away?” Although Song Kang says he can manage the distance, Park Min Young thoughtfully suggests that she’ll purposely lean forward a bit while drinking her beer, so that he can more easily reach her forehead.

Chae Seo Eun, Moon Tae Yoo, and Yoon Sa Bong then arrive to interrupt their date, and the director makes everyone crack up by suddenly pretending to be a real waiter at the restaurant and asking them, “How many people are in your party? Is it three of you? What will be you ordering? We’re a bit crowded right now.”

Later, after Park Min Young bursts into laughter during a take, she films the part of the scene where her character ducks under the table to hide, then hilariously runs away from her co-workers while crouching. When the director takes longer to yell “Cut!” than she expected, she gets adorably flustered before laughing, “He just kept going.”

Finally, the clip ends with Song Kang and Park Min Young filming their romantic kiss outside the restaurant, which marks the official start of their relationship. As they block the movements of the kiss, Park Min Young suggests, “Even after we first lean in, we can break apart from time to time in between, you know? After we first kiss, we can [pull apart] slightly to look at one another, then go back in [for another kiss]. But we don’t have to plan it all out beforehand. Let’s just do [whatever happens naturally].”

The actors also discuss the emotions of their kiss during their breaks, with Park Min Young telling Song Kang, “Up until now, you thought that you were the only one who had feelings for Ha Kyung, but in this scene, you realize, ‘Oh, she likes me too.’ Which is what leads to the kiss.”

All that careful planning pays off—after they map out all the details, the two leads move on to actually filming the kiss, and their chemistry is off the charts. They also adorably burst into giggles after breaking apart at one point, which somehow only heightens the romance of the moment.
