Seo Ye Ji Formally Apologizes 10 Months After Controversy Over Relationship With Kim Jung Hyun
Nearly a year after she was swept up in controversy over her past relationship with Kim Jung Hyun, Seo Ye Ji has made a formal apology.
Last year, Seo Ye Ji came under fire after Dispatch published a report that included text messages between the actress and her then-boyfriend Kim Jung Hyun. The report alleged that Seo Ye Ji had ordered Kim Jung Hyun to request that the script of his 2018 drama “Time,” which also starred Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, be modified to remove physical contact between him and the female lead.
Although Seo Ye Ji’s agency responded to the report with an official statement, the actress herself did not personally address the controversy at the time, even as she withdrew from projects like the OCN drama “Island.”
On February 27, Seo Ye Ji released a formal apology regarding the controversy, over 10 months after the Dispatch report was first published.
Her full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is Seo Ye Ji.
First, I sincerely apologize for the fact that I’m conveying my feelings so late through these written words.
Seeing all of the reproach and the many things that have been said about me, I have been taking time to reflect on myself up until now.
I would like to sincerely apologize for making many people uncomfortable due to my shortcomings. Once again, I sincerely bow my head and apologize for the fact that I have disappointed you greatly.
All of this stemmed from my immaturity, and I will work hard to behave more carefully in the future and show you a more mature version of myself.
After staying out of the spotlight for almost a full year, Seo Ye Ji is currently preparing to return to the small screen in the upcoming tvN drama “Eve” (literal title).
