BTS And BLACKPINK's Lisa Reach Impressive Milestone On Billboard's Hot Trending Songs Chart
BTS and BLACKPINK’s Lisa are making history on Billboard’s new Hot Trending Songs chart!
Last October, Billboard launched a new chart that tracks global music-related trends and conversations in real time across Twitter, highlighting buzz around new releases, award shows, festival moments, music nostalgia, and more. According to Billboard, the Hot Trending Songs chart “is unique in that it tracks what songs people are talking about, not necessarily what they’re listening to.”
For the week ending on March 12, both BTS’s smash hit “Butter” and BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s solo debut track “LALISA” spent their 20th consecutive week on the Hot Trending Songs chart, becoming the first two songs ever to achieve the feat.
Notably, this achievement means that both “Butter” and “LALISA” are the only two songs to have spent every week on the chart since its inception 20 weeks ago in October 2021.
“Butter” held onto its spot at No. 1 on the chart this week, marking its 12th week at the top, after logging 3.9 million Twitter mentions for the tracking week of February 25 to March 3. Meanwhile, “LALISA” maintained its position at No. 17 with 289,000 Twitter mentions in the same week.
Including “Butter,” BTS claimed seven out of the top 20 spots on the chart this week. Jungkook’s “7 Fates: CHAKHO” OST track “Stay Alive” (produced by Suga) charted at No. 3, Jin’s “Jirisan” OST track “Yours” at No. 5, Jin’s “Super Tuna” at No. 6, V‘s “Our Beloved Summer” OST track “Christmas Tree” at No. 12, “Permission to Dance” at No. 13, and “Dynamite” at No. 18.
Congratulations to both BTS and Lisa!
