Watch: Song Kang And Park Min Young Practice Getting Up Close And Personal In "Forecasting Love And Weather"
sJTBC shared another behind-the-scenes video from the filming of episodes 7 and 8 of “Forecasting Love and Weather”!
“Forecasting Love and Weather” is a romance drama about the work and love lives of people who work at the Korea Meteorological Administration, Korea’s national weather forecast service. Park Min Young stars as the frosty Jin Ha Kyung, who does things by the book and keeps her personal and professional lives separate. Song Kang stars as the passionate Lee Si Woo, a free spirit who boasts an impressive IQ but only cares about the weather.
The behind-the-scenes video starts with Park Min Young and Song Kang rehearsing their conversation outside of the office just before work starts in the morning. The two actors share a cute moment when they read from the same script as Park Min Young points out a line or detail to Song Kang.
The key moment for the scene is when the couple, who are keeping their relationship a secret at work, are interrupted by another employee. Park Min Young is perfectly in character as she greets the other employee professionally, but Song Kang awkwardly sticks his hand in the air. She teases, “Are you really going to do it like that?” Waiting for a take, Park Min Young also experiments with odd hand movements for fun.
As filming begins, Lee Si Woo gets right up close and personal to Jin Ha Kyung, but when Song Kang tries to put his hand on the wall next to her, it looks awkward, and Park Min Young says, “That isn’t it.” In another take, the timing is wrong as Song Kang can’t see the other employee and goes on with his next line before the employee can cross the camera frame. Meanwhile, the behind-the-scenes camera films both Song Kang and Park Min Young’s close-ups on the camera and gets excited each time.
The next scene is Lee Si Woo and Jin Ha Kyung sharing a meal of grilled pork belly together. Song Kang tries the food before filming begins and gets so absorbed in eating that Park Min Young can’t understand any of his lines when he speaks with his mouth full. Park Min Young tries one food item and makes the staff member laugh with her ad-lib, “Let’s just eat perilla leaves.” Amusingly, this scene requires multiple takes of the end as the server comes in with two dishes of naengmyun (cold buckwheat noodles) but can’t quite get the tone right, from being too serious to making the entire set crack up with being too energetic.
