The second match-up of Round 2 was between Gomujulnori and Already Midnight. Gomujulnori chose to cover IU’s “YOU&I” and showed off her clear and sweet vocal tone. Already 12 chose Jaurim’s “Anna” and showed her powerful and ringing voice and an immersive performance.
The panel voted 15 to 9 in Already 12’s favor, advancing her to the next round. Gomujulnori took off her mask and revealed herself as Weeekly’s Jihan.
In the interview, Jihan talked about her nickname of Bunny, which she said was because, “Even though my front teeth aren’t that big, the other teeth are smaller, so my nickname is Bunny.”
2NE1’s Sandara Park, who was on the panel, was shocked to learn that Jihan was born in 2004. She said, “If I had gotten married early, I might have a daughter around that age now. I think I debuted around 2004. I was the ‘Bunny’ of the second generation. Welcome, fourth-generation Bunny.”
Jihan further widened the generation gap when she talked about the song she had sang in Round 1, “Dreams Come True,” originally by S.E.S and recently remade by aespa. Jihan said, “I first heard the song as aespa’s remake. I knew that there were legendary seniors called S.E.S, but that was the first time I’d heard the song, so I thought aespa were the original singers.”
Weeekly made a comeback earlier this month with “Ven para.”
