Kim Hee Sun Transforms Into A Grim Reaper With A Mysterious Past For New Drama 'Tomorrow'

MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Tomorrow” has shared a glimpse of Kim Hee Sun’s past!

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “Tomorrow” will tell the story of Choi Joon Woong (played by SF9‘s Rowoon), who gets into an unfortunate accident while struggling to find a job. As a result, he crosses paths with grim reapers Goo Ryun (Kim Hee Sun) and Lim Ryoong Goo (Yoon Ji On), who work together to save the lives of those who are contemplating suicide, and he winds up joining their team in the underworld as their youngest member.

Goo Ryun is the fearless and charismatic grim reaper who leads the Crisis Management Team at the spirit management headquarters of the afterlife monopoly called Joomadeung (phantasmagoria). Although Goo Ryun appears ice-cold on the outside, she is a warm-hearted character who is tough enough to stand up to those who are powerful, yet kind enough to treat the weak with respect and care.

The newly released stills show Goo Ryun before she became a grim reaper. Her bright pink hair from the present cannot be seen anywhere, and instead, her hair is long and black, and she is wearing a white sobok (mourning clothes). Her mournful figure is surrounded by darkness, and there is only a faint ray of light. The hauntingly sad expression on her face makes the viewers’ hearts ache.

In another still, Goo Ryun’s lips are dry, and her white dress has become grimy. She firmly stares at the mysterious person who has paid her a visit. The premiere of “Tomorrow” is further amplified as viewers become eager to find out why Goo Ryun became a grim reaper with the title “The Woman Who Came Back From Hell.”

The producers of “Tomorrow” shared that in the drama, Goo Ryun’s history is completely veiled. The only thing known about her is her label “A Woman Who Came Back From Hell.” They added, “The story of Goo Ryun, which will be gradually revealed as the story progresses, will make things more intriguing. Please show lots of interest.”

“Tomorrow” will premiere on April 1 at 9:50 p.m. Check out a teaser here!
