9 Fashionable Styles Of Powerful, Professional, And Posh Women In K-Dramas
Fashion gods of 2021 and early 2022 have blessed us with tons of style inspirations from strong women in K-dramas. Whether they’re on the good or evil side, these characters know how to play the righteous or bad girl in style. Here are some dominant trends that emerged from fairly recent must-watch shows:
Colorful Suit Dressing
In “One The Woman,” Honey Lee serves up double the fashion (and trouble) as Jo Yeon Joo, a tough-talking prosecutor, and Kang Mi Na, the daughter of a chaebol family who suddenly goes missing. She plays both characters who have opposite personalities but have one thing in common: a great sense of style. She mingles with her rich family in bright prints as Kang Mi Na while meeting her work colleagues in striking bright-colored suits as Jo Yeon Joo.
Then there’s Jeon Yeo Bin – who can forget the breakout leading lady of 2021? In “Vincenzo,” she gives off cool yet lovely vibes in work suits that are anything but boring. The pastel colors and unique cuts of her suits make her look extraordinary and stunning.
Modern Monochromes
When it comes to bringing chic, cosmopolitan style to the hometown, Yoon Hye Jin (played by Shin Min Ah) in “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” is the best. She stands out in monochromatic colors with the latest bags, trendy accessories, and statement pieces. As a dentist, she wears professional looks but she always makes sure to add a unique touch.
Feminine Power Dressing
In “Mine,” Jung Seo Hyun (played by Kim Seo Hyung) commands a presence in smart suits that are mixed with soft and hard elements. The softness comes from silk fabrics, elegant draping, and subtle colors that are balanced with more structured and streamlined pieces. She is an intelligent, strong woman who is married to the first son of a chaebol family. A lot of responsibility is put on her shoulders as she stays strong in her convictions.
Not-So Basic Basics
As a designer for a big fashion brand, Ha Young Eun (played by Song Hye Kyo) in “Now We Are Breaking Up” can’t help but have an innate fashion sense and impeccable style. She works both in the spotlight and behind the scenes as a creative director, so she chooses to wear outfits that are practical, classic, and can take her from day to night events. She keeps it clean and simple with neutrals and little to no prints, and that’s what makes her style timeless.
Understated Luxury
Raised by a wealthy family, Cha Mi Jo (played by Son Ye Jin) in “Thirty-Nine” has everything: a flourishing career as a dermatologist, great friends, and a stylish wardrobe. She also keeps it simple with a minimal style, but it looks like each piece comes from a designer brand. She definitely has elegant taste!
Statement Shoulders
The ultimate villain of the “Penthouse” series knows how to manipulate and intimidate in style. In “The Penthouse 3,” Cheon Seo Jin (played by Kim So Yeon) has power shoulders for days and mind-blowing fashion that makes her one of the most captivating characters onscreen.
Soft And Sophisticated
When it comes to professional dressing, Park Min Young always brings her A-game. Playing Jin Ha Kyung in “Forecasting Love and Weather,” she is a kindhearted leader and a caring girlfriend who always puts her best foot (and style) forward. One of her go-to pieces is the front ribbon blouse and trouser suit set that looks office – and date – ready!
Artsy And Vintage-inspired
In “Dali and Cocky Prince,” Kim Dali (played by Park Gyu Young) is the only child of a prestigious family who works in the art gallery industry. This background reflects her slightly eccentric yet creative fashion that is both fresh and beautiful!
It-Girl Fashion
Playing NJ, a famous celebrity in “Our Beloved Summer,” Noh Jung Ui is on top of the latest trending searches for her stylish outfits. She updates classic pieces like a ruffled top by pairing them with modern styles like shorts and boots, and she accessorizes her outfits with cool sunglasses and touches of leather.
In “The One and Only,” famous social media influencer Sung Mi Do (played by Red Velvet’s Joy) is always on trend with the latest brands and designer items. Here, her style is both “high teen” and feminine chic.
