"Queendom 2" Premieres To Higher Ratings Than Both Season 1 And "Kingdom"
Mnet’s “Queendom 2” is off to a promising start!
On March 31, the second season of the hit idol competition show aired its highly-anticipated premiere. Hosted by Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Lee Yong Jin, “Queendom 2” features VIVIZ, LOONA, WJSN, Brave Girls, Kep1er, and Hyolyn going head-to-head as they showcase their talents through several rounds of spectacular performances.
According to Nielsen Korea, “Queendom 2” premiered to higher viewership ratings than both Season 1 of “Queendom” and the show’s male version, “Kingdom: Legendary War.”
The first episode of “Queendom 2” scored an average nationwide rating of 0.8 percent—while the first season of “Queendom” premiered to a nationwide average of 0.5 percent and “Kingdom” premiered to a nationwide average of 0.3 percent.
Notably, “Queendom 2” also managed to top last week’s list of the most buzzworthy non-drama TV shows, even though it hadn’t yet premiered at the time.
