"Twenty Five, Twenty One" Ratings Dip Ahead Of Finale As Yoon Shi Yoon's New Drama "It's Beautiful Now" Premieres At No. 1
KBS 2TV’s new drama “It’s Beautiful Now” (also known as “Hyun Jae Is Beautiful”) is off to a strong start!
“It’s Beautiful Now,” which stars Yoon Shi Yoon and Bae Da Bin, tells the story of three brothers who avoid dating and marriage until their parents and grandfather come up with an unusual scheme to marry them off: the family announces that their valuable apartment will go to whichever brother can bring home a spouse first.
On April 2, the new drama premiered to an average nationwide rating of 24.5 percent, making it the most-watched program of any kind to air on any channel on Saturday. The first episode of “It’s Beautiful Now” also earned higher viewership ratings than its predecessor “Young Lady and Gentleman,” the drama that previously occupied its time slot (which premiered to a nationwide average of 22.7 percent last fall).
Meanwhile, tvN’s “Twenty Five, Twenty One” saw a decrease in viewership ahead of its series finale, with its penultimate episode scoring an average nationwide rating of 9.6 percent. However, despite the minor dip, the hit drama still remained first place in its time slot across all channels—including public broadcast networks. “Twenty Five, Twenty One” also took first place in its time slot among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it earned a nationwide average of 6.2 percent.
JTBC’s “Forecasting Love and Weather,” which also has only one episode left in its run, similarly saw a drop in viewership heading into its own finale. The penultimate episode of the drama scored an average nationwide rating of 5.7 percent.
For the first time this season, TV Chosun’s “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) 3” saw its viewership ratings fall: up until last week, the third season of the drama had hit a new all-time high with each new episode. The latest episode of the series earned an average nationwide rating of 8.6 percent, marking a modest decrease from its previous episode last week.
After getting off to a record-breaking start the night before, MBC’s new fantasy drama “Tomorrow” saw its viewership drop by more than half for its second episode, which scored a nationwide average of 3.4 percent.
Finally, KBS’s popular historical drama “The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won” rose slightly to an average nationwide rating of 10.1 percent for its latest episode.
