IU, BTS' Suga, TREASURE, ENHYPEN, NMIXX, SMTOWN, And More Earn Platinum Certifications From Gaon

Gaon Chart has announced its latest batch of official certifications!

In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while songs receive a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.

On April 7, Gaon Chart announced that both TREASURE’s latest mini album “THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE” and ENHYPEN’s repackaged album “DIMENSION : ANSWER” had received official triple platinum certifications after selling over 750,000 copies each.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment’s agency-wide winter album “2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS” was certified double platinum after selling over 500,000 copies.

NMIXX’s debut single album “AD MARE” also earned an official platinum certification after selling over 250,000 copies.

In the streaming category, IU’s “eight” (produced by and featuring BTS’ Suga) was officially certified double platinum after surpassing 200 million streams.

Finally, both Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” and MC the Max’s “Circular” earned platinum certifications in the download category after reaching 2.5 million downloads each.
