"Our Blues" Premieres To Higher Ratings Than "Twenty Five, Twenty One" + "Again My Life" Rises For 2nd Episode

tvN’s new drama “Our Blues” is off to a strong start!

“Our Blues” is an omnibus-style drama set in Jeju Island that tells the sweet, sour, and bitter life stories of a diverse array of characters. The star-studded cast includes Lee Byung Hun, Shin Min Ah, Kim Woo Bin, Han Ji Min, Cha Seung Won, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Hye Ja, Uhm Jung Hwa, and more.

According to Nielsen Korea, the new drama premiered to an average nationwide rating of 7.3 percent on April 9. Notably, the first episode of “Our Blues” earned higher viewership ratings than that of its hit predecessor “Twenty Five, Twenty One” (the drama that previously occupied its time slot), which premiered to a nationwide average of 6.4 percent in February. However, the premiere of “Our Blues” still fell short of the 11.5 percent rating achieved by last week’s “Twenty Five, Twenty One” finale.

“Our Blues” also took first place in its time slot across all channels among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored a nationwide average of 4.1 percent.

Meanwhile, JTBC’s “My Liberation Notes”—which also aired its premiere last night—got off to a relatively quiet start. The new drama, which stars Kim Ji Won, Lee Min Ki, and Lee El as three siblings who want to escape their stifling lives, premiered to an average nationwide rating of 2.9 percent. In contrast, its predecessor “Forecasting Love and Weather” premiered to an average nationwide rating of 4.5 percent and ended on a rating of 7.3 percent last week.

After getting off to a solid start the night before, SBS’s new series “Again My Life” saw a rise in viewership for its second episode. The new fantasy revenge drama starring Lee Joon Gi earned an average nationwide rating of 6.4 percent for its latest broadcast.

MBC’s “Tomorrow,” which airs in the same time slot as “Again My Life,” dipped to an average nationwide rating of 4.1 percent for its fourth episode.

TV Chosun’s “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) 3” rose to an average nationwide rating of 9.0 percent for its latest episode, while KBS’s “The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won” dipped to an average nationwide rating of 9.5 percent for the night.

Finally, KBS 2TV’s new drama “It’s Beautiful Now” fell to an average nationwide rating of 22.8 percent for its third episode, though it still remained the most-watched program to air on any channel on Saturday.
