BLACKPINK's 'BOOMBAYAH' Becomes 1st K-Pop Debut MV Ever To Hit 1.4 Billion Views

Once again, BLACKPINK has made YouTube history with their debut music video!

On April 23 at approximately 5:48 a.m. KST, BLACKPINK’s music video for “BOOMBAYAH” surpassed 1.4 billion views on YouTube—making it the first K-pop debut music video in history ever to achieve the feat.

“BOOMBAYAH” is now BLACKPINK’s third music video to surpass 1.4 billion views, following “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love.” BLACKPINK is currently the only female K-pop artist to have reached the milestone with three different music videos.

BLACKPINK originally released the music video for “BOOMBAYAH” on August 8, 2016 at 8 p.m. KST, meaning that it took the song just over five years, eight months, and 14 days to hit the 1.4 billion mark.
