Park Hae Jin And Jin Ki Joo's 'From Now On, Showtime!' Premieres Amidst Stiff Competition + 'Sh**ting Stars' Ratings Rise For 2nd Episode

The battle for weekend drama ratings is heating up!

On April 23, MBC’s new fantasy rom-com “From Now On, Showtime!“—which marks Park Hae Jin’s first drama in two years—aired its highly-anticipated premiere. The series tells the centuries-long love story of popular magician Cha Cha Woong (Park Hae Jin), who can summon ghosts, and passionate police constable Go Seul Hae (Jin Ki Joo), who has her own supernatural powers.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “From Now On, Showtime!” scored an average nationwide rating of 2.8 percent—a respectable start considering the stiff competition it was up against.

Meanwhile, tvN’s new drama “Sh**ting Stars” saw a slight rise in viewership for its second episode, which earned an average nationwide rating of 1.8 percent. The romantic comedy, which stars Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Dae, takes viewers behind the scenes of the entertainment industry.

After reaching a new all-time high in viewership the night before, SBS’s “Again My Life” dipped to an average nationwide rating of 8.5 percent for its latest episode. However, the show was still the most-watched drama of Saturday among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored an average rating of 4.0 percent.

tvN’s “Our Blues” similarly dropped from its own all-time high to an average nationwide rating of 7.1 percent, though it still remained first place in its time slot among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49 (with whom it scored a nationwide average of 3.6 percent).

TV Chosun’s “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) 3” climbed to an average nationwide rating of 8.9 percent for its latest episode, and JTBC’s “My Liberation Notes” also rose slightly to an average nationwide rating of 2.7 percent.

KBS’s “The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won” dipped to an average nationwide rating of 10.2 percent, while MBC’s “Tomorrow” fell to an average nationwide rating of 3.0 percent.

Finally, KBS 2TV’s “It’s Beautiful Now” remained the most-watched program to air on Saturday with an average nationwide rating of 22.2 percent.
