Former 100% member Chanyong has announced his upcoming marriage!

On April 28, Chanyong uploaded a post to the homepage of his new pre-debut group FAVE1 announcing his marriage and detailing his mental health journey. Read his statement below:

Hello, this is Chanyong.

I’m curious whether you’ve been healthy and well. Although everyone’s going through a tough time because of COVID-19, I hope this year will be better. There’s something that I want to personally share with fans and I’ve come to write this post because I want to let fans know first, before it is too late.

I am able to exist thanks to everyone who has always cherished and supported me. Because of that, I thought it’d be right to tell you personally and more than anything, I feel apologetic because I think you’ll be surprised at this sudden news.

There’s someone I want to spend the rest of my life with. While meeting with her, I gained trust and we’ve decided to get married with that trust as the foundation. As she is a non-celebrity, I ask that you understand with an open mind that I cannot disclose details. We’ve also decided to hold a private ceremony inviting only our families and close acquaintances.

I believe the direction I continue to move in is just as important as the road I’ve walked until now, so I plan to live with even more responsibility as the head of a family. I will become a Chanyong that repays you with an even better image.

Additionally, I want to talk about my health status. I’ve been receiving treatment for panic disorder and panic attacks but as many of you have seen, I’ve unintentionally shown my hurt self from panic attacks during our promotions. Even though I’ve been nervous as I don’t know when [the panic attacks] will come, I want to say thank you to my members for believing in and staying with me until the end. Although there may be hardships in my participation in future promotions, I will concentrate on recovery and work hard so that I can stand in front of you all as soon as possible.

Chanyong debuted as a member of 100% in 2012 and in September 2021, the group announced their disbandment. The four former members of 100%, Chanyong, Rockhyun, Hyukjin, and Jonghwan have since reunited to form pre-debut team FAVE1.
