Watch: Jung So Min And Lee Jae Wook Are Not What They Seem In 1st Teasers For New Hong Sisters Drama About Swapped Souls
tvN’s upcoming drama “Alchemy of Souls” has unveiled its first teasers!
Helmed by “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” director Park Joon Hwa, “Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama will tell the story of characters whose fates become twisted due to magic that swaps people’s souls.
The upcoming drama will be penned by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran), whose previous works include the hit dramas “You’re Beautiful,” “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” “The Greatest Love,” “Master’s Sun,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and more.
In addition to Jung So Min and Lee Jae Wook, the drama’s star-studded cast will include NU’EST‘s Hwang Minhyun, Oh My Girl‘s Arin, “All of Us Are Dead” star Yoo In Soo, Shin Seung Ho, Yoo Joon Sang, Oh Na Ra, and Jo Jae Yoon.
Lee Jae Wook will play the role of sophisticated yet troublemaking young master Jang Wook of the Jang family. Jang Wook has a tragic backstory, with the entire nation of Daeho whispering about the shocking secret behind his scandalous birth. Despite seeming cool and indifferent on the outside, he is burning with fiery mischievousness on the inside.
Meanwhile, Jung So Min will star as Mu Deok Yi, a great assassin stuck in an impossibly weak body. While her soul is fierce and full of power, her body cannot keep up with her spirit.
On May 7, “Alchemy of Souls” released two teasers introducing viewers to its unique leads. Jang Wook’s teaser features the character attempting to burn a mysterious book in a fire—only to watch it magically revive itself, undamaged.
Meanwhile, Mu Deok Yi’s stunning teaser gives viewers an intriguing glimpse into her soul and her blood-stained history as a swordswoman.
“Alchemy of Souls” will premiere on June 18 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
