Former "Produce X 101" Contestant Oh Sae Bom Reveals He's Been Battling Cancer

Oh Sae Bom has revealed that he is currently undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.

On May 9, the singer and former “Produce X 101” contestant took to Instagram to share the news that he was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, back in January. According to Oh Sae Bom, he first developed symptoms of chronic fever and abnormal fatigue last year, but he “didn’t think too much” of it because he assumed he was merely overworked.

Oh Sae Bom also reassured fans that he recently completed his second round of chemotherapy and that he is “not in bad condition” right now, though he expects his condition to get worse in the future due to continued chemotherapy.

For the sake of his international fans, Oh Sae Bom posted the statement in multiple languages—and his full English statement is as follows:

First of all, I’m sorry and feel sad to greet you with such bad news.

In January of this year, I was diagnosed with malignant lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.

Since year 2021, I was exceptionally tired and had a fever when sleeping at night.
I didn’t think too much because I thought it was because I overworked myself.
It took two months to get the final diagnosis of lymphoma.

I’ve been doing too many tests.. I had a lot of thoughts.

I couldn’t tell the people around me at the time because I was finishing the works and schedules that was already been promised and planned.
It’s been a while since I’ve calmed down to rest and I’m posting this…!

Currently, I have completed the second round of chemotherapy and I am not in a bad condition right now!

Although in the future, my condition of the body that will get worse while undergoing chemotherapy. I will do my best during the treatment period to get treated well and overcome it and come back to you!
