ATEEZ's Hongjoong Diagnosed With COVID-19 After Wrapping Up Europe Tour
After successfully wrapping up the long-awaited European leg of their world tour, ATEEZ’s Hongjoong has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
On May 17, KQ Entertainment announced that upon their return to Korea the day before, all of the ATEEZ members had undergone routine PCR testing as part of the standard procedure for re-entering the country. While the PCR test Hongjoong underwent before his departure from Amsterdam had come back negative, the test he took upon his arrival in Korea on May 16 came back positive.
Hongjoong is currently asymptomatic, and he has already halted all of his scheduled activities and gone into quarantine. None of the other ATEEZ members have tested positive for COVID-19.
KQ Entertainment’s full English statement is as follows:
Hello.
This is KQ Entertainment.This is to inform [you] that member Hongjoong has been notified of asymptomatic confirmation of COVID-19.
ATEEZ recently returned to Korea from Amsterdam, which is the last city of the European arena tour, after confirming negative results for COVID-19 by PCR test before departure.
After arriving in Korea on the 16th, a PCR test was conducted according to the quarantine procedure, and member Hongjoong tested positive on the 17th. Hongjoong does not currently have any special symptoms, but started quarantine and home treatment, and the other 7 members all tested negative.
All ATEEZ members, including Hongjoong, have completed their 3rd dose of vaccines. Also, we would like to inform you that Hongjoong had contact with the members, but they were all wearing masks on their return to Korea on the 16th.
Therefore, Hongjoong temporarily suspended all schedules, and Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho are maintaining their health and proceeding with their schedules.
We will do our best for Hongjoong to recover quickly.
