Hwang Minhyun Opens Up About Receiving Love From Fans, Believing In Himself, And More
Hwang Minhyun recently participated in a pictorial and interview with 1st Look magazine!
During the photo shoot, Hwang Minhyun posed under radiant, warm light in a fresh and bright environment that highlighted his glowing skin.
In the interview after the photo shoot, Hwang Minhyun mentioned his upcoming tvN drama “Alchemy of Souls.”
Helmed by “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” director Park Joon Hwa, “Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama will tell the story of characters whose fates become twisted due to magic that swaps people’s souls.
Hwang Minhyun will be starring in the drama as Seo Youl, the genius scion of the noble Seo family. Although he is flawless in every way—from his handsome looks to his brilliant mind and his impressive literary and martial arts skills—he is too naive to be realistic. Seo Youl is also a hopeless romantic who harbors a pure-hearted love for one secretive girl.
In addition to Hwang Minhyun, the drama’s star-studded cast will include Jung So Min, Lee Jae Wook, Oh My Girl‘s Arin, “All of Us Are Dead” star Yoo In Soo, Shin Seung Ho, Yoo Joon Sang, Oh Na Ra, and Jo Jae Yoon.
When asked what he has in common with Seo Youl, he replied that they’re both rational and don’t have much emotional changes.
Hwang Minhyun shared that his fans helped him with acting in romance dramas, remarking, “I hear ‘I love you’ a lot from my fans. Since love is reciprocal, I learned to express it and return it as much as I have received it. I received so much love from my fans that I am now good at giving love too. I think the love I exchanged with my fans is definitely helping with my romance acting.”
Furthermore, Hwang Minhyun explained the importance of believing in himself. He remarked, “I believe in myself. I always think I should, and I think it’s the reason why I can work for a long time. I always try to be proud of and have confidence in myself, and even if I face difficulties, I say ‘it’s not a big deal’ like a habit. That’s how I trust myself.”
