Kim Sae Ron's Agency Comments On Compensation For Damages Related To Drunk Driving Accident

On May 23, Kim Sae Ron’s agency GOLDMEDALIST Entertainment released a brief statement on compensation for damages caused by the actress’s DUI (driving under the influence) incident.

A representative from the agency stated, “Kim Sae Ron has decided to personally take responsibility for the damages caused by the accident.” They continued, “The price currently listed on news articles is an estimate we received from the Korea Electric Power Corporation soon after the accident. The actual amount is currently being settled by the insurance company. Regarding compensation, we are compiling cases from not only the Korea Electric Power Corporation but also from those who have experienced damages.”

They added, “We again apologize to those who have experienced harm. We will do our best so that compensation for the damages can come to fruition.”

Approximately 50 places including four nearby buildings, a traffic light, and a streetlamp lost electricity as a result of the accident, which involved the car crashing into an electrical transformer. Surrounding businesses were unable to operate during the four hours it took to install a new transformer.

Previously, on the morning of May 18, Kim Sae Ron was booked for drunk driving, and her agency shared a brief statement in response. The following day, Kim Sae Ron shared an apology through her agency and stepped down from the upcoming SBS drama “Trolley” (literal title). The actress also posted a handwritten apology on her Instagram. On May 23, her upcoming Netflix drama “Hunting Dogs” (literal title) also commented that Kim Sae Ron has halted filming for the drama but will not be leaving the cast.
