SEVENTEEN Tops iTunes Charts Around The World + Nearly Doubles Own 1st-Day Sales Record With "Face The Sun"
SEVENTEEN’s latest comeback is off to an incredible start!
On May 27 at 1 p.m. KST, SEVENTEEN made their highly-anticipated return with their fourth studio album “Face the Sun” and its title track “HOT.”
According to Hanteo Chart, “Face the Sun” sold an impressive total of 1,758,565 copies on its first day of sales alone—almost double SEVENTEEN’s previous first-day sales record of 881,788 set by their 2021 mini album “Your Choice.”
Not only did SEVENTEEN manage to break their own first-week sales record of 1,364,127 (also set by “Your Choice”) in just one day, but they have also become only the second artist in Hanteo history to sell over 1 million copies of an album on the first day of its release. (The only other artist to achieve the feat to date is BTS.)
Additionally, “Face the Sun” has achieved the third-highest first-day sales of any album in Hanteo history, bested only by BTS’s 2020 albums “Map of the Soul: 7” and “BE.”
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN’s new title track “HOT” soared to No. 1 on Bugs’s realtime chart in Korea—as well as those of Japan’s Line Music and AWA—shortly after its release, and the song also topped iTunes charts in numerous countries all over the world.
As of 1 p.m. KST on May 28, “HOT” had already hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 26 different regions across the globe, including Mexico and Singapore. “Face the Sun” had similarly reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 22 different regions, including Brazil and the Philippines.
Congratulations to SEVENTEEN on their successful comeback!
