"The Outlaws 2" ("The Roundup") Soars Past 6 Million Moviegoers At Fastest Speed Of Any Film Since "Parasite"
Less than two weeks after its release, “The Outlaws 2” (also known as “The Roundup”) is already on track to overtake its hit prequel!
According to the Korean Film Council, as of May 29 at 9 a.m. KST, “The Outlaws 2” had officially surpassed 6 million moviegoers—meaning that it took less than 12 days to reach the milestone.
“The Outlaws 2” now the fastest movie since the award-winning 2019 film “Parasite” to surpass 6 million moviegoers at the Korean box office, and it has also managed to beat the records of legendary smash hits like the 2014 film “Ode to My Father” (which took 16 days to reach 6 million) and the 2013 classic “Miracle in Cell No. 7” (19 days).
Additionally, it appears likely that “The Outlaws 2” will soon overtake the final total of 6,880,546 moviegoers recorded by the original “The Outlaws” film, which was released back in 2017—all within the first few weeks of its opening.
As the sequel to the hit action film from 2017, “The Outlaws 2” follows the exciting adventures of legendary detective Ma Seok Do (played by Ma Dong Seok) and his police station’s violent crimes squad as they chase down a powerful new villain (played by Son Suk Ku).
Congratulations to the cast and crew of “The Outlaws 2” on the ongoing success of their new film!
