Shin Dong Yup's Father Passes Away

Shin Dong Yup’s father has passed away.

On May 31, his agency SM C&C shared that Shin Dong Yup’s father, who was in a nursing home, has passed away at the age of 88. His wake is being held somewhere in Seoul, and the funeral will be held quietly with family and close acquaintances. They said, “We ask for your consideration so that the family can mourn the deceased. We offer our condolences to our artist Shin Dong Yup and his family. May [his father] rest in peace.”

SM C&C also added that they’re currently adjusting Shin Dong Yup’s schedule, so they’re not able to confirm it at the moment. However, the June 1 recording of “My Little Old Boy” has been inevitably canceled.

Shin Dong Yup had spoken about his father on TV before. He revealed, “My father is in a nursing home after cancer surgery. I haven’t been able to visit him for a year because of COVID-19. He can’t come out either.”
