Oh Yeon Seo Describes Her "Café Minamdang" Role, What Drew Her To The Drama, And More

Oh Yeon Seo has teased her role in “Café Minamdang” while also expressing affection and excitement for the upcoming drama!

Based on the popular web novel of the same name, KBS2’s “Café Minamdang” is a comedy-mystery starring Seo In Guk as Nam Han Joon, a fraudulent male shaman who used to be a profiler. Oh Yeon Seo stars as Han Jae Hee, a detective in the violent crimes unit who is passionate about justice.

Regarding why she chose to star in “Café Minamdang,” Oh Yeon Seo explained that this was her first time portraying a detective. She added, “The plot in itself was incredibly fun and the charms of Nam Han Joon, a profiler who pretends to be a shaman, and Han Jae Hee, who stops at nothing for justice, felt refreshing.”

She continued about her character Han Jae Hee, “At first, she may appear a bit mysterious, but once you get to know her, she’s an incredibly honest, bold, and cool character. Even while reading the script I thought, ‘This person is really cool.’ She’s cool and aloof and I tried to capture her accurate action angles on screen.”

To prepare for her first-ever detective role, Oh Yeon Seo shared, “I looked up a lot of videos of real-life detectives and I received a lot of advice from Jung Man Shik.” She continued, “The action scenes were surprisingly fun. I think I’ve found something I have an aptitude for.”

Oh Yeon Seo described “Café Minamdang” as a surprise box, explaining, “Just like how you don’t know what a surprise box will contain when you open it, when you open ‘Café Minamdang,’ it’s full of various stories that are funny, have to do with humans living life, and more.
