TWICE's Nayeon Tops 3 Billboard Charts + Becomes 1st K-Pop Female Soloist In History To Enter Top 5 Of Artist 100
TWICE’s Nayeon continues to make Billboard history with her solo debut!
This week, Nayeon became the first K-pop soloist of any gender ever to enter the top 10 of Billboard’s famous Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States, when her first solo mini album “IM NAYEON” debuted at No. 7.
However, that wasn’t the only historic debut “IM NAYEON” made on the Billboard charts this week. Nayeon also became the first K-pop soloist (of any gender) in history to hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, selling an impressive 52,000 albums in the United States alone during the week ending on June 30.
Billboard has now revealed more of Nayeon’s impressive achievements on this week’s charts: in addition to debuting at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart, “IM NAYEON” also swept the No. 1 spot on both the Top Current Album Sales chart and the World Albums chart (where Nayeon became the first female artist to debut at No. 1 this year).
Additionally, Nayeon debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Artist 100, making her the first female K-pop soloist in history to enter the top 50 of the chart. She is also only the second K-pop soloist overall to enter the top 5 following BTS‘ Suga (Agust D), who reached No. 4 on the chart back in 2020.
Nayeon also entered this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart with more than one song from “IM NAYEON”: her title track “POP!” debuted at No. 7, while her B-side “No Problem” featuring Stray Kids‘ Felix followed at No. 10. Meanwhile, “IM NAYEON” entered Billboard’s Tastemaker Albums chart at No. 7.
Finally, “POP!” debuted at No. 15 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 30 on the Global 200 this week.
Congratulations to Nayeon on her incredible achievements!
